Through this partnership – one of South Africa's most iconic mountain biking stage races – we celebrate endurance, teamwork and innovation, values that define both the sport and our purpose. FNB Wines2Whales allows us to create access for young riders, uplift local communities, and support sustainable practices that protect the trails for generations to come. From the vineyards of Lourensford to the shores of Hermanus, this three-day mountain bike stage race captures the spirit of resilience, adventure and opportunity.
About the event
FNB Wines2Whales is a journey from vineyard to ocean, spanning nearly 200km of trails and 4 000m of climbing. Over three days, racers face challenges that test skill, stamina and teamwork, making it one of South Africa's most iconic mountain biking events.
The race features three unique events:

Chardonnay: A celebration of women in mountain biking, with the biggest prize purse for elite female riders in South Africa.

Pinotage: Where innovation meets adventure, featuring e-bike races and tours for riders embracing the future of cycling.

Shiraz: The grand finale, headlined by EXXARO development riders and elite men's teams, alongside fiercely contested mixed and age-group categories.
